Parker J is a husband to Missy, a dad to Scout, a master to Austin & Marley (golden retrievers),
a friend to many, a resident of Asheville, NC, a traveler of the world and an addict to photography,
fly fishing, travel and friends.
Parker J’s images are known the world over.
His creative eye, style, and personality have made him one of the most highly regarded wedding photographers in the world. As a matter of fact he was just listed as one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world by American Photo magazine. Parker J has been awarded many times over, both nationally and internationally, and his images and interviews have graced the pages of In Style, People, OK magazine,Modern Bride, Martha Stewart,Today’s Bride, Rangefinder, Studio Photography and Design, Photo District News, Weddings Unveiled and many other magazines and photographic books. His images have also appeared on Entertainment Tonight and The Food Network.
His personal works have also landed in art collections around the globe.
But don’t think for a second that all of this attention has gone to his head. He is a humble artist that is always finding a new way to see and is on a constant search for the perfect image.
Parker J is a photographer because he has to be.
He photographs for his soul.
And just incase you were wondering he enjoys:
laughing hard, swinging hammocks, clouds wandering through a mountain range,
music that lets you feel, a good sense of humor, country roads with grass between the tracks,
the click of a shutter, the way a fly line pulls off of the water sending tiny droplets of water to
shine in the sun, the constant flow of people in a large city scene, Scottish hospitality, a great cheeseburger, a fine wine, watching others, a smooth flight and eggs.
He fears:
clowns, spiders, large cats, bees, scales, Scottish food and normality.

It was fascinating watching Parker J. take these photos here at Black Mountain Sanctuary. It was an enchanted day, and a wonderful couple to work with. It was so creatively inspiring to watch him work, to see his process. Having confident command over the equipment and technical part of the equation allows for creative freedom I would say; and that creativity does flow! He works so masterfully with people, and is such a lovable guy too…he knows how to get the best out of everyone. I look forward to having Parker J. back for another wedding here soon hopefully!
What a super cool venue and wedding. The Bride is Beautiful, the Groom
is handsome. What more could there be…..

Love every image! amazing as always…
wow! I so want to be you when i grow up!
You did it again…absolutely wonderful photography. It’s what I call the “eye of the artist” thing that you and my daughters, Kris, and Jennifer have.
Wow. Amazing. You are so good. My favorite is the 7th from the top–the picture of the bride and groom (b&w) in the grove of trees. So beautiful.
No surprise… gorgeous shots as always, AND I can see what you’re talking about, it was PERFECT!
This is EXACTLY the kind of wedding I’d love to film! Thanks for sharing.

Those forest photos are really beautiful. Who wouldn’t want something like that on the wall at home?
The archer shot reminds me of a film I saw last night.
