Wedding Photographers in Asheville
My name is Parker J. Pfister, and I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Asheville, NC. While I do photograph in Asheville, I often travel worldwide for both weddings and portraits. Though, with Asheville having so many amazing wedding locations it’s hard to find anything better in the world. The majestic Biltmore Estate is practically in my backyard and is one of my favorite local wedding venues. The house itself is a Châteauesque-styled mansion built by George Washington Vanderbilt II, between 1889 and 1895, and is the largest privately owned house in the United States at 178,926 square feet! You are not going to find a larger statement for your wedding in the States than the Biltmore Estate! It offers over 12 wedding venues to choose from, ranging from the opulent front lawn or outdoor Diana venue to a beautiful intimate space at the Conservatory or the Champagne Cellar in the Winery. Some of my other favorites on the Biltmore Estate are Deerpark, Lioncrest, and the Inn. I love having this place in my hometown, and I love to exploring the 4,400 acres to find new locations to take my Bride and Groom. After all, we should all get personalized, original photography and not what everyone else has! Right?
I believe a good wedding photographer wears many different hats during the wedding day. You must wear the hat of a photojournalist, a landscape photographer, a architectural Photographer, a fashion photographer and a portrait photographer. The canvas of a wedding day most always contain these 5 things. We as photographers are defined by how long we wear each hat and will therefore be considered our style. My particular style is always shifting between these 5 hats to mirror my clients personality and own style.
This image is a direct collaboration of my style and my brides style. I put on my Portrait hat and set out to make a stunning simple portrait that would showcase her true beauty and style.
This particular image was made at a beautiful Biltmore Estate Wedding with an Art Deco feel. My bride for the day was beyond stunning with her vintage style of hair, dress and decor. I made this image very quickly using just the natural light coming in the doorway with a closet door as the backdrop. She had just had her make up done and I asked her to just turn to me for a quick image. Simple and quick always makes us both happy. And photographing on The Biltmore Estate is icing on the cake!.
